THE STORY BEHIND THIS DESIGN SOLUTION.

The client brief was to create a contemporary, modern, country style house which captures the beautiful natural landscape view of the open country. A requirement to create a large protected outdoor living space which also gains this view was also sought.

Given the location, privacy was not a high priority, allowing the use of large windows. The main challenges of the site was the fall and prevailing winds. This was overcome by designing the house along the natural undulation, helping achieve orientation towards the view whilst creating protection from the wind.

The design exhilarated our client, modern bold overlapping eaves cantilevering beyond walls antithetically enhancing the length of the house, large windows interlocking internal and external living areas, capturing scenery at any vantage point. Particularly overwhelmed that every window frames magnificent rural and coastal views throughout the day, sunrise to sunset.

The house comes alive when lit during night fall, proudly crowning the hill it resides upon. Cleverly designed to maximize views of the breathtaking endless landscape to the horizon, in a bold contemporary modern style. When gazing upon its presence, the house is well deserving of an award.
